I also spoke at a Digital Boost mentor session in Durham, where we focused on simple, practical actions for start-ups and early-stage businesses—no jargon, no big budgets, just the basics that consistently make a difference.

Don’t Build Your Business Alone: https://digitalboost.org.uk/
We covered three key areas:
• Basic SEO – Small, straightforward steps every business can take without technical knowledge or large investment.
• Google My Business – Still one of the most important and overlooked tools. We explored Maps, reviews, click-to-call, directions, sharing, and—crucially—posting updates. Regular posting ties directly into the Zedcomms Standard Operating Procedure I’ve developed over the years to help businesses show what they do day-to-day.
• Email marketing – Perhaps a little “old school,” but still one of the strongest ways to build and maintain customer relationships. Whether you have 30 contacts or 300, useful and timely emails help strengthen connections before and after the sale.
It was a great session, and it’s always inspiring to see how business owners are using these tools to move forward.
